Judge John E. Keefe, Sr., became counsel to the firm in 2001, after retiring from his position as a presiding judge of the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court, where he served for thirteen years. First appointed to the bench in 1977, Judge Keefe’s judicial career spanned nearly 25 years.

Prior to his appointment, Judge Keefe was a civil trial attorney with a practice encompassing medical malpractice, product liability, and insurance. In addition to his judicial service, Judge Keefe has been a frequent lecturer at the Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the New Jersey Bar Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America—New Jersey. In 2001 he was given the Institute for Continuing Legal Education's Distinguished Service Award, and in October, 2005, he received the Daniel L. Golden Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Trial Lawyers of America—New Jersey.

He was an adjunct professor of law at Seton Hall University School of Law for five years and, along with the Honorable William A. Dreier and Eric D. Katz, Judge Keefe authored the 2002 edition of the New Jersey Products Liability & Toxic Tort Law treatise.
