The defective product attorneys at Keefe Bartels are investigating child injury claims related to the recall of cribs with drop down sides made by Stork Craft Manufacturing. As part of the largest crib recall in U.S. history, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled cribs with drop down sides because they pose a serious strangulation risk that can result in the death of a child.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports dozens of child deaths over the past decade due to malfunctioning plastic hardware in drop side cribs made by a variety of crib manufacturers. The federal government has recalled nearly 5 million cribs in the past two years and most are cribs with drop down sides.

The CPSC has recalled multiple models of drop side cribs made by Stork Craft as well as Stork Craft drop side cribs with the Fisher-Price logo. Retailer Toys R Us is no longer selling cribs made with the drop down side feature.

Drop side cribs made by Stork Craft from January 1993 to October 2009 are part of the recall, as well as those with the Fisher Price logo. Malfunctioning plastic hardware makes the crib a major safety hazard to children.
